Samotišky was first recorded in a 1141 charter by Jindřich Zdík, Bishop of Olomouc, and has been an independent municipality again since 1993. The hereditary reeve's manor in the centre of Samotišky dates from the second half of the 16th century; it housed reeves until 1849 and now contains the kindergarten. The mayor and his wife had the Chapel of St Anne and St Florian built in 1872, and a statue of the Virgin Mary stands in front of it. A Way of the Cross leads from Samotišky to the pilgrimage site of Svatý Kopeček, while a historic Baroque avenue leads to Klášterní Hradisko.
