Domašov nad Bystřicí lies in the wooded valley of the Bystřice stream, in the Nízký Jeseník range. The village is about 10 km east of Šternberk. It is first mentioned in 1269.

St Anne's Church in Domašov nad Bystřicí was built in 1791 and furnished with an altar from the dissolved Hradisko Monastery. In memory of the 1758 Battle of Domašov, in which the Austrians routed a Prussian supply convoy, Olomouc had the Black Cross erected at the site.
