Červenka lies on the left bank of the Čerlinka stream. It is three kilometres north of Litovel and around 18 kilometres north-west of Olomouc.

The first written record of Červenka appears in a 1287 charter of King Wenceslas II, where the village is named Schwarcpach. The Redemptorists built the Church of Saint Alphonsus in 1862. An older chapel dedicated to Saint Paulina dates from 1798.
